Question:
Welche Voraussetzungen sind für die Nutzung von AGP und USB notwendig?

Answer:
Folgende Voraussetzungen müssen für eine USB/AGP - Unterstützung gegeben sein:

1. Hardware

* Bitte kontrollieren Sie zwei Voraussetzungen für einen funktionsfähigen USB-Anschluß.
   Die "South-Bridge" (82371SB), auch PIIX3 genannt muß mindestens dem Stepping S092 entsprechen. (Auf den Chip gedruckt)

** Der 10 Pin USB Adapter ist nicht mehr lieferbar. Pinbelegung siehe FAQ 078

 2. Software (Windows 9x / ME / NT / 2000 )

Nur Windows 98(SE) besitzt nach der Installation sofort einen kompletten USB/AGP-Support. Die erste Version von Windows 95, sowie dessen erste OEM-Version (A - OSR1), besitzen keine Möglichkeit eines Updates.

Keine Windows 95 B / C -Version (OSR 2.1 / 2.5) besitzt nach der Installation automatisch AGP/USB-Support !
Die notwendigen Files finden Sie jeweils auf der CD im entsprechenden Verzeichnis.

* Ein Update von OSR 2.0 ist möglich, wenn die erforderliche(n) Datei(en) zur Verfügung stehen.
Für ein voll funktionsfähiges USB sind beide Dateien von der Windows 95C OSR 2.5-CD notwendig. ( usbsupp.exe + usbupd2.exe )
"usbsupp.exe" von der OSR 2.1-CD sorgt lediglich für die AGP-Unterstützung und die Erkennung des USB-Controllers.

** WinNT 4 unterstützt nicht die AGP Funktionen an sich. AGP Karten können aber ab SP3 genutzt werden.
